FREE L’Oreal 1.7oz Shampoo & Conditioner, plus $0.51 MONEYMAKER at CVS

Last night I was finally able to shop, so I ran to CVS to grab the great deals and freebies for the week before the new sales cycle starts today.  I purchased the L’Oreal Paris 1.7oz Shampoo and Conditioner, and to my surprise the $2 off any L’Oreal Hair Product printable scanned through, and has no limits stated excluding any products.  It took the $2 off, and since the product was less, it credited the $0.51 which went towards my other purchases, so ended up being a big moneymaker.  While we no longer have the Extracare Bucks on them, it is still FREE, plus a $0.51 MONEYMAKER for each one!!

These are found in the Travel Size section in CVS, in the little bins.

FREE L’Oreal Advanced Shampoo & Conditioner, plus $4 MONEYMAKER at CVS

We have another great beauty FREEBIE at CVS this week, plus a really nice MONEYMAKER!!!  There are two different scenarios, both will be FREE, plus a MONEYMAKER, just depends on your store. The L’Oreal site has several different printable coupons.  You must sign up with a free account before you can print.  They have a $2 off any L’Oreal Paris Haircare or Treatment product coupon that does not have any exclusions printed on the coupon.  They also have a $1.00 off any L’Oreal Paris product coupon.  I did a couple different scenarios, but even without any coupons, you will still get both products FREE, and MAKE $1.02!

CVS Trip, 9 Products Retail Priced $54.51, only $2.72 with Coupons & Rebate

I had a nice little trip to CVS today to scout for deals.  I left with 9 products, retail priced $54.51, and got it all for only $2.72!

I ended up at the Sand Springs store first, and they were completely out of the Tena liners.  Since today is the last day for the biggest moneymaker with the $5 off coupon, I asked if they could locate a store in Tulsa that had them in stock.  While we can always get a rain check, I would make a dollar more being able to use the coupon, and though just a dollar, I also wanted to see if they had a CeraVe product I was looking for.  The manager sent me to a CVS all the way on the other side of Tulsa.  When I arrived, there were none on the shelves despite telling me they had 26.  However, I had a very nice young manager that offered to check the back, and said if she could not find any, I could choose any other Tena product to substitute for the same price.  She ended up finding a few (although nowhere near 26.)  Besides finding them in the back, she also gave me a third Tena package for free, saying that “When an item like this is out of stock, CVS associates should offer you a substitute for the same price, and if the coupon differs, still take the coupon value off for it as well.”  She also apologized that I had to drive so far.  I told her that she did not need to do that, but even the thought was appreciated.  She insisted, so I ended up with an extra freebie.

This was really encouraging on the heels of a really bad shopping trip.  A few weeks ago, a brand new sales associate rang up my transaction, a transaction that I do every few weeks when available.  There were issues from the start, and looking back, those clues usually let me know to end the transaction there, and return at a later date with a different employee.  The manager saw she was confused, and took over, but was visibly not happy to start with.  She did not understand that the the new associate had entered a large beauty reward I had earned that was showing on the computer.  So even though she scanned my coupons,  it did not deduct them from my receipt.  The CVS system already has the issue of coupons that have been scanned not being used on the transaction in the end.  You always need to check your receipt before leaving, as more often than not now, there is usually at least one that vanishes.  The only one that it did take was a $6 off $30 purchase, but it only took $0.75 off my purchase for it, as that was all that was left after the beauty reward was entered.   That was the first time I have ever seen a register do that without having to manually override a coupon value.  I won’t go into too many details, but it was so bad, that it was a bit difficult to return again.

With couponing, there will be days where things go wrong, and some days where absolutely nothing seems to go right.  Staying calm can be tricky, especially in this case when a manager is chastising you for canceling the transaction, talking over you whenever you try to speak, and holding their hand up in the “stop” motion if you try to show them the errors on the receipt.  In the end, staying as calm and nice as possible is definitely worth it.  The percentage of bad trips I have compared to the great trips I have, is minimal.  All it takes is one time to lose your temper to be branded forever, as store associates absolutely do talk.  If you are “marked,” even easy transactions can turn into hassles later on, as everything you do will then be scrutinized.  On the rare occasions that I have had scenarios such as this, I simply return the items, retrieve all of my coupons, and come back at a later date.  Make sure if they scanned any Extra Care Bucks or beauty rewards, that they are put back on your card, or that they give you a slip that they create manually.  Sometimes even when a transaction is cancelled, the Extra Care Bucks will show as being used.  If this happens, just make sure to explain the situation to a manager and they will take care of it for you.

Overall, CVS employees are some of the best I have come across.  It is my favorite store to coupon at, and it is also where I find the best deals.  Today I grabbed some really nice products at a price that is difficult to beat.

Here is what I purchased and what I used:

***Remember not to print other coupons from the CVS site besides the CVS store coupons (the Tena coupon is not a CVS coupon, just has logo as advertisement) as they will be deducted from your Swagbucks prints, and you will not receive payment for using them. You receive $0.10 (10 Swagbucks) for each coupon used that was  printed off the  Swagbucks site, and they are the same ones found elsewhere.
