My “How I Used a Freebie” Page

If you coupon like I do, chances are, it is EXTREMELY difficult to pass up a great deal!  And a FREEBIE? Are you kidding?  Don’t get me wrong, I am not a “shelf clearer,” and I am very cognizant of how much of a product I will take.  I do not want to have a giant stash, as I just don’t have room.  If I can’t use it, or donate it within a couple of months, I leave it.

Sometimes though, the freebies we get may be a little odd, or something we don’t think we would normally use.  I always hold onto those a bit, then if I don’t use them, pass them on.  Hence this page.  I love to see how freebies can become useful!

Today’s entry, a pool noodle I got free with a water gun purchase.  After my divorce, I no longer have a home with a pool.  But, I kept it a bit anyway, and so glad I did!  I have an armoire in my bedroom where my TV is.  It is the only place I can put it as there is not another cable hook up.  Unfortunately, the doors come too close to my bathroom door.  One my 2 year old daughter comes racing in and out of during the day.  It took one EXTREME bonk on her head when she finally was tall enough to hit it, to put this baby to good use!  I cut it in half,  made a split down the top with a box cutter, wrapped the bottom of the noddle around the bottom of the doors, and secured it in place.  It may not “look pretty,” but I can tell you, I have watched these save serious head boo boos on multiple occasions since!  Surprisingly sturdy too!  These have been up for several months, and while the duct tape is a bit of an “eye sore,” she has tried pulling it off, and it is on there. I have a good adhesive remover I got free when it’s time for them to come off 😉
